Outcome of the

Extraordinary General Meeting

held onThursday 15th October 2026

After the formal resignation of all the current committee, and with no new committee being formed, the proposal that the Society be formally closed was passed.

Notes

1) Whissonsett Village Hall committee will take responsibility for running the Summer and Autumn Shows in future, led by the four outgoing committee members for the next year or two, with the hope that eventually this becomes one of the regular activities run by the Village Hall.

2) That half of the Society’s remaining funds will be given to the Village Hall and the other half to charity (specifically, the East Anglian Air Ambulance).

Final figures will be passed on to all current members in due course.

Members - please bring along a flower for our little ‘Flower of the Month’ competition to our evening meetings - a small prize is on offer for the best!

Welcome

We are a small but friendly and thriving group of amateur gardeners. Throughout the year we have talks on various garden related topics delivered by a range of speakers.

There are summer and autumn shows, where the competition is lively and friendly, alongside visits to gardens and other occasional events.
